FC Gifu vs. Nagoya Grampus

The soccer team representing Gifu is called FC Gifu. They are hugely popular and they practice in our town, Kakamigahara!! Aya and I got to go to an away game of theirs in the Town of Toyota in Nagoya. It was a preseason game, so it wasn't nearly as crouded as it will be in the season but it was still pretty crowded, luckily we got seats right on the field. We basically ran all the way there from the subway to beat the massive crowd approaching!

The team we played was called the "Nagoya Grampus," which I thought was kind of funny.. I don't know why they're called that..

On either side of the field there were huge sections for cheering and hardcore fans, here is the Nagoya goalie warming up in front of the Grampus fans. The whole time before the game and during each cheering side would do a song and compete on who could louder. There were more people for the Grampus, but the FC Gifu fans had better songs and were more enthusiastic.

Here are the teams warming up.

The game was so awesome, I didn't take many photos because I just wanted to watch. It seemed like we had a chance but in the first half we got scored on.

Then during the second half we got scored on again. :( It was sad, but the cheering section kept going strong. Here are the Grampus greeting their fans after the game.

Even though we lost Aya and I still had a lot of fun cheering watching the game.
